Southern Utah Day 9:
I know you all are awaiting the last installment of our spring vacation! We are now home, laundry is washed and put away, camper and car are cleaned out. Now we have all these wonderful pictures! On our last day in St. George we debated on going into Las Vegas, but we decided that the next day we were going to be driving enough so we stuck around. We kept driving by a sign that said "Red Cliffs Recreational Site" by our campground so we decided to check it out. We went on a little hike called Silver Reef, where it takes you on top of guess what more red rock! Then we found another hike that went along a river. We stopped to nurse Ian and while we waited we saw some girls in bathing suits, towels and a cooler walk ahead of us. That made us wonder, "um what is up ahead?" We kept going about a half mile in, and found a complete oasis,
a beautifully carved out canyon of red rock with natural waterfalls. It was such a great find, we had a blast exploring.
The girls we saw before showed us the waterslide down the waterfall, Scott thought about doing it, but the water was freezing! Rylan wanted to climb to the top of the waterfall so Scott put him on his back Yoda style and climbed up the rope.
this is a picture of Rylan wiping up his spit off the stairs! He has a fascination with randomly spitting everywhere (he is trying to be cool like his dad) and he spit on the temple stairs!
Rylan begged us for the rest of the day to go back there with our suits on, but we knew that he would just go in once then be done. That water must have been fresh from a pack of snow.
We went back to the camper, had lunch took some naps then went into St. George to the temple. We took some pictures and went to the visitors center. Madelyn introduced herself to a missionary there and would not stop talking to her. She gave Madelyn and Rylan each a picture of Jesus. That temple is beautiful and there was a great spirit there.
