Ian 20 Months

Image
This little guy is just growing up too fast! He is 20 months old!  He is so full of life and curiosity that we all just watch him in amazement.  In the past couple weeks he has really gained a vocabulary and has been putting words together like, "help me mommy!"  He loves to be with everyone, and when he has to go to bed without his brother and sister in the room with him he throws a fit!  He definitely is a momma's boy and prefers her to do things for him.  He is getting more comfortable with M'Lynn and he calls her" Binn." His favorites things to eat are: Yogurt (yo-yo) Bananas (nana), Cookies Eggs He does NOT like to eat vegetables, and I am always trying to sneak them in smoothies and other foods that he loves, the only ones I can get him to eat are potatoes, and sweet potatoes His favorite things to do are: watch Rio, Little Einsteins, and Caillou swim play outside pick up Rylan from the bus climb stairs throw rocks ...

Madelyn Turns 4!

Image
4 years ago today we fell in love with this little face,  Our little princess turns 4 today!  She wanted to have her first party with friends this year, so yesterday we put together all of her favorite things for the perfect party: dress up, tea party, shopping, dancing, playing games and eating sweets! First of all I gotta hand it to my party planning partner, M'Lynn.  I am so glad that she was able to help out! Scott had to work, and lets face it, he wouldn't be caught dead at a party like this!  We converted our living room into a spa, the girls came in and soaked their feet,  and got a pedicure.  They read books while waiting for their fancy toes to be done.  We did a little make-up and we were going to do hair-dos but the girls didn't want to, so we moved on to the next activity. Games!  Pin the bow on Hello Kitty (which was drawn by M'Lynn)  Limbo  Dance freez...

Madelyn's First Day of Preschool

Image
After much debate, I decided that it was time for Madelyn to go to preschool. She won't be able to go to Kindergarten until Fall 2014 because of her September birthday, so we weren't sure if she really needed to go to preschool for two years especially since it is so expensive out here.  She was so excited to go, and I was excited to have 2 1/2 hours, twice a week, without her sweet little face in my face, asking me random questions and making me play ponies with her.  Here she is on her first day!  We found a preschool that is really close to our house at our park district. Here she is walking to the green doors, where we drop her off and pick her up.  Exploring her classroom . . . playing with some army men, of all the things she could have picked, maybe because her brother doesn't let her play with his army guys?!1?!  She was completely content with her class and when I told her I was going to leave, she said, "ok, bye!" and t...

Rain Gutter Regatta

Another first cub scout event!  Like the Pinewood Derby, he was given a boat kit with instructions and Rylan had to have his mommy help him this time, dad was in Korea.  I didn't help him right apparently, but we did make it in time to race!  Waiting in line to race  His boat did great, it was nice and smooth, but not quite as fast as the boys he was up against.  I had to take another picture of it so you could see the army guy we glued on. Rylan was disapointed that he didn't win, but I reminded him that he won the Pinewood Derby, and so he can't win them all! He thought it was because his mom was helping him not dad.  I will happily sit out of it next time if dad would quit leaving town!
