More Maddy photos

Madelyn has been so responsive lately, she coos and smiles. I have a little video of it on my camera but I can't load it on to my blog for some reason. So the pictures will have to do.

I love my family

Image
I have been itching to go to Provo to be with my sister Margaret who had little Benjamin almost two weeks ago, and my mom who is taking care of her. Finally a day cleared up and we were able to go. My brother Jared and his kids were visiting family in Orem so they came over as well to meet the new cousins. This is Carson, Grace and Porter holding Madelyn for the first time. To say that Rylan loves his cousins would be an understatement..he adores, admires, worships etc. The whole time we were there he was playing with them and when they weren't playing he was begging to play with them. They all took turns entertaining him. The proud Grandma The cute cousins. This picture is a bit blurry and I kind of cut off Benjamin's head because I was trying to get Maddy to smile..oops.

It must be fall

Here is what we carved those wonderful pumpkins into . . . I learned that Scott is quite crafty with a knife! I was struggling with just the top of mine and he had started and finished Rylan's pumpkin. So he did the manly thing and carved mine for me, thanks baby. We figured that he has been gone for the past two Halloweens during his deployment so we haven't been together this time of year for a while. I am so relieved he is home and that his turn is over. . .for a while anyway.

Snow in October!

Image
Look at what we woke up to this morning! UUGGHH! Snow about 3 inches I think, on the bright side it really made Rylan's day. He was groaning in his bed because we were making him lay there for a few extra minutes after being awakened by the baby, but after Scott got up and looked outside he told Rylan that there was a surprise for him outside and to come look. You see, Rylan has been asking us since about June, "When is it going to snow?" So he really was happy to see it. He immediately wanted to go out and play, but we had to get ready for church. He talked about it all morning and even during sacrament meeting he tugged on my arm and said, "I don't want to go to primary." When I asked him why he said because he wanted to go home and play in the snow! After we got home he ate his lunch in about 5 minutes (for those of you who know Rylan you know that is a record for him). Then it was finally time for him to be able to go out with Scott. They built t...

Pickin' Pumpkins

Image
Today we went to Pack Farms Pumpkin Patch to get some pumpkins for the Halloween season. We plan on carving them for family home evening on Monday. It was freezing today, but we endured so we could find the perfect pumpkins! We found one for Madelyn first then I found the medium sized one for me (the bigger it is the longer it takes to dig out the gunk in it!), then Rylan and Scott went for some big ones! This is what Madelyn thought of the whole thing. . . Can you find Rylan in this picture? Rylan enjoyed the mini hay maze they had for the kids.

First Bath

Image
Last week Madelyn's belly button finally fell off so we were able to give her a bath, she loved it. She got so relaxed that she pooped in the tub, so that ended the comfortable bath. She was pretty mad when we took her out.

I've been picture tagged

Image
I was picture tagged by my wonderful sister-in-law Breezi You go to your 4th Picture file, and Choose the 4th Picture and post and then blog about it. This picture was taken while we lived in Boise with Anna, it was close to Christmas time 2006. Rylan was obsessed with the Jock Jams CD and he loved this particular song that was a medley of songs and there was a part that said, "and look at him go, and look at him go, he could go all the waaaaayyyy." At this particular part he would put his hand up to his forehead like he was looking a far distance away. He learned this choreography from his mother who learned it at her best friend's (thanks Meghan) church camp what like 10 years ago! (What can I say I love dancing) I bet if that song came on between me and Meghan we could do the whole routine for you. I guess I have to pass this on...if you are willing, how about Meghan, Kezia (come on you need more pics on your blog anyway) and Monica, who is a excellent picture taker.

Our new nephew!

Yeah my sister Margaret finally had her baby! The poor girl spent hours waiting for her to be dilated enough to push and then started pushing to only realize that the baby was turned and his big burly shoulders could not fit, so they ended up doing a emergency c-section and found out that the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck! He was in the ICU for a couple hours and in the mean time Margie was just waiting in her room for a LONG time to hold her baby. Anna and I went up there to keep her company and we were there when she got to hold her sweet baby boy for the first time (they did let her hold him for a very brief second right after delivery but had to rush him off to the ICU). Jeff (Margaret's husband) is so tender and sweet to Margie it was so sweet to see their love for each other and their new baby. He was 8 lbs 2 oz that is about the size of Madelyn, maybe a bit bigger, and Maddy is almost a month old. Notice her baby acne, i don't know what to do for it, but it ...
