We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

Madelyn has been rocking on her knees for a couple weeks now, and after private crawling lessons from her brother Rylan, she has finally learned how to crawl forward! She loves that she can chase her brother around now. Rylan has to play with his toys up off the floor or else the "baby giant" comes and wrecks his civilzations. Her poor knees are all red from the carpet, but she doesn't seem to mind. We catch Maddy doing this a lot, a great "downward dog" yoga position. She thinks it is pretty funny to look at the world from this view.

Along with Easter comes little girls in new dresses, floofy dresses! My mom bought this dress for Maddy when she was here a couple weeks ago. I love it! The best part of having a girl is dressing her up in darling little clothes. So after church I sat her down in our front yard and wanted to take some photos...she wasn't in the mood. She was more interested in eating grass and squinting at the sun. No smile, but she is still a cutie. As a side note she can offically sit up by herself, feed herself and drink from a sippy cup! She has just started to crawl forwards as well. I will have to catch her on video.

Our Easter weekend was pretty fun! We decided to get out despite the rain on Saturday and take the kids somewhere fun! Our friends the Tophams invited us to their town's easter egg hunt in Farmington. They had the kids divided up into age categories, 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. They then took each group to a different area of the park. Rylan was really excited, this was his first real egg hunt, we have had them at our home before and at Grandma and Grandpa's house, but not a big one with other kids. It was crazy! Just like every other event we attend to in Utah there are a ton of kids! So we were glad that they divided it up. This is Shelby and Lena, Rylan's cute girlfriends, getting ready to collect eggs. So these pictures were taken a couple weeks ago during Conference weekend when my sister Anna came to visit. She actually took most of these...aren't Maddy and Ben just the cutest babies! Rylan loves his cousin Ben...and Ben weighs almost as much as Rylan! Anna playing the piano with Maddy...I pray that she has the talent of my sister! On Saturday night we met up at the Cheesecake Factory...yum, Maddy loved the noise and all the people to look at and squeal at. Ben, was a bit bugged by the noise, it is so funny how their personalites are so different. Ben is calm and easy-going. Maddy is a little fireball, if she is happy then she is REALLY happy, if she is sad she is REALLY SAD! She is always on the move and quite wiggly and wants to be in on all the action. This is her in her element at the noisy resturant.

I did this on my facebook and I thought it was cute enough to post on our blog. I love asking Rylan thought provoking questions and hearing what he comes up with. Kids really are smarter than you think. Because I was asking him these questions, a lot of his answers were directed toward me. My responses are in parenthesis after his answer. 1. What is something mom always says to you? um..get dressed (so true, he would love to live in his P.J.'s, we go through them really fast, sometimes he wears holes in the knees so we cut the legs off and make shorts for summer P.J.'s. He also loves to be naked..still! His is five and has no shame it streaking through out the house giggling. 2. Madelyn is very anxious to move. She can scoot backwards and thinks that is pretty cool, but she gets frustrated when she sees something in front of her and she can't quite reach it. She is so close, she gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth like this... When Madelyn wakes up happy and cooing I know she has gotten enough sleep. If she wakes up crying she is still tired and needs to go back to sleep. She had just woken up and I could hear her in the monitor talking, so I was hoping to catch her talking to herself when I went to get her, but all she could give me were big smiles ...she is so sweet! We had the privledge of having my friend from high school come visit us this last weekend. Meghan! She is super fun for all, I had to tear her away from Rylan who kept trying to steal her attention away from me! She is a 2nd grade teacher and you can tell because she is fantastic with kids. Rylan just adores her and she even brought a project to teach Rylan how to do! Here are his little finger print critters that Meghan taught him how to do...aren't they cute! We had fun just hanging out, we went to IKEA, (of course) and I took Meghan to downtown Salt Lake to visit Temple Square. If you ever want to know when the best day to go to Temple Square is...it is on Monday afternoon! There was hardly anyone there, I felt like we had it all to ourselves compared to when we have been there before and there were a ton of people. About two weeks ago the weather here was insanely nice and we broke out all the outdoor play stuff including our bikes. Rylan received a bike last summer and when I bought it for him I thought I would be smart and buy a bike that was a little bit big for him so he could grow into it. He rode it all last summer, with a little help, his feet barely touch the ground but he can get on and off alright. Well when we pulled it out this summer I had hoped that he had grown a little and maybe he would be able to ride it a bit easier. Well he must have not grown that much because he was still having issues. He can't start off very easy with his scrawny legs and when I saw the neighbor kid getting off his bike just to give Rylan a little push I though ok we need to get him a bike to use until he grows into his bigger bike.
