We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

I guess it is almost summer, but it has been raining lately and today it is going to be warm and sunny! This is our house with some impatiens, delphiniums, and pansies planted in the front (thanks to my mom for her help)! We have been looking for a swing to hang in our front yard off of the big birch tree, and when we finally found one (at Ikea of all places) we had to get it. Now we need to work on teaching Ry how to pump himself. What I love to see in my yard. . . What I HATE to see in my yard. Just when we got the dandelions under control these little weeds started to sprout up. After talking to our neighbor we found out that they are willows, and yeah they look innocent enough, but the roots on these things are DEEP! And if you don't pull up the whole root then it will just come back! We need to invest in some serious poison for them I think. Our beautiful garden. We have been awaiting this day for a very long time. On May 23rd we drove to Heber City and got to take a ride on Thomas. They had other activites available all Thomas related. Then we drove to Little Dear Creek campground (because honestly the campsites we had originally wanted to go to still had snow!) Burrr. Our Campsite, we have never camped in aspens before! He was so excited to roast marshmellows, then after we taught him the fine art of getting it just a little brown and we made his little sandwich, he took a bite and said..."I don't like it brown!" I had to put this one in there of my manly husband cutting down a dead tree for firewood. His days working for the forest service paid off. While eating his breakfast, the wind somehow blew up his paper plate and dumped all his eggs on the table then blew the plate on the ground. Ry wondered what he should ...

We signed Rylan up for instructional t-ball this year and he has been so excited to go every Saturday. They teach him how to catch, throw, hit, plus the rules of the game. He wants to wear his purple shirt and his baseball cap all the time. Scott and Rylan practice outside in the back yard quite a bit, and Rylan is learning to be a great hitter without the tee! He has gotten better at catching too.

Scott did it! He ran 26 miles and survived! I dropped him off in downtown Ogden at 5:00 in the morning so he could take the bus up the canyon. I met him half way with a change of socks and shoes and some encouragement. It was quite nerve-racking waiting for him at the finish. First of all there were sooo many people that by the time I got down there I couldn't get a spot close enough to the finish so I settled for a spot where the volunteers were giving the runners their medals. I couldn't see so I stood up on the camping chair I brought. I am sure I looked quite silly, I was wearing a cowboy hat (to shade my face from the hot sun) and a jean skirt plus there is my expanding belly protruding and here I am standing up on my chair looking anxious. There were runners collapsing right in front of me, throwing up, and looking completely delirious. I even saw a guy who I thought was Scott being carried off into the first aid station yelling in pain of his knee. I thought, "Scott...

While my wonderful mother was here visiting while Scott was gone for 2 weeks, we had a fun day with Margaret, Jeff and Erica. We went to Wheeler Farm in SLC and then we hiked Ensign Peak. This hike was so fun and not so hard to do. The view up top is breath taking, you can see the whole valley. This is Ry showing his muscles

Yeah, Rylan is not afraid to ride Papa's horses. Before we made the trip up to Grangeville we talked about riding with Papa. Rylan confided with me that he didn't like it when the horse would shake their heads and say, "No." I thought about this and figured out that he must think that when Sprinkles or Baby shake their head to relieve an itch or shake off a bug, Ry must have thought they were telling him, "No I don't want you to ride on me." So once I told him this he was very excited to ride again. Whew! One fear-gone.

We went to Lewiston for the Dogwood festival and had to do the Seaport River Run. Scott and Jeff did the 6 miles, and Margaret and Leah did the 3 miles. It is so fun to walk along the river on a path that is very familiar to you. We grew up walking along the levee so it is a treat for us to come and partipate.

This was back in April when Scott competed in the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. This was a race to get ready for his marathon and he completely blew out his knee, but thanks to his chiroprator uncle Staten (who had helped him previously with the same knee) he popped it back into place during the race. He finished in 1 hour 40 minutes.
