My Review on Wicked

Image
This last weekend we went to the broadway show Wicked in Boise. We bought tickets for this event one year ago! Before we knew we were pregnant even! It was a family event, my mom & dad, two brothers and their families and my sister who lives in Boise and got us all the tickets, plus my cousins the Kikkerts that live in Salt Lake were all there! It was a blast! The show was very fun, I loved the story line, the music was addicting, I find myself humming the tunes, and I have already re watched some of the songs on youtube. I liked it very much, but I wasn't totally blown away like I expected to be, but I think my expectations were set too high honestly. I do that a lot, just ask Scott. Something was missing, and i think it was not seeing the actors facial expressions. We were up in the balcony at $68 that was pricey enough, so next time I need to bring some binoculars OR pay more money. The day of the show we were just hanging out at Anna's when my brother Jared called and t...

Ian 4 Months

Image
Ian found his tongue ! At his appointment today he weighed 12 lbs 1 oz and was 24 inches long. The appointment was not fun, Madelyn peed her pants, as we were waiting to be called in. All the sudden she looked at me with horror then down at the puddle on the floor. It was everywhere, once she stops it is like a flood gate that can't be stopped! She was wearing a dress with leggings, so we took of the leggings, underwear and dress and rinsed them in water. Next I wrapped the underwear and leggings in some paper towels and stuck them in my purse. I dried the wet spot on the dress as best I could and then had to put it back on her. Luckily I happened to have a pullup in my purse or else she would have had to go commando. Anyway back to Ian, he is still in the 3rd percentile. We just don't make them big at our house. Good thing to, because this guy is getting tired of just laying there and wants to be held to see the world!

Madelyn's Pet

Image
Madelyn has an imaginary pet, it is a dog. At first his name was donkey, then it switched to three, but now she just calls him her doggie. He goes with us everywhere, sometimes in the car, but most of the time he flies next to us as we are driving, yes doggie flies. Here are some other characteristics of her pet according to Madelyn: He is black with green eyes He is as big or tall as Madelyn's waist He is a nice dog His favorite thing to eat is meatballs He is getting bigger and bigger and bigger so Maddy can ride him Here is a picture of them together Can you see him? I love her imagination, I play along with the idea of her imaginary friend, because I too had one when I was little. His name was Maynard and he was a monkey. When aunt Breezi came to visit a while ago she brought Maddy some hair extensions, but Madelyn was at grandpa & grandma's house. So when she came back we tried them on, Ian even got to wear one!

The First Track Meet

Rylan had his first track meet yesterday! He has been practicing with his club for about 3 weeks. He loves to run, in fact in soccer he runs all around the field and never tires. Also last June our stake had a 5k and he ran the whole thing, and beat me! So we thought this might be his thing. The longest distance they have for his age group do is the 400 meter, which is one lap around the track. So he did that and the 200 meter. (I must warn you to turn down your volume, I can't help but cheer on my baby!) the 400 meter time: 1:31 2nd place out of 12 It was freezing with wind and drops of rain off and on, but he patiently waited for his runs while we froze and tried to keep Ian warm. Like Ian's new trick? He is pretty proud of himself and his spit gurgling. the 200 meter time: 47.08 4th place out of 8 There are some pretty fast kids out there! Rylan may not have been first place but we are proud that he didn't stop and tried his best and stayed really close to the other kids...

Ian 3 months

Image
Here is our happy Ian just after a bath with Rylan. I took some pictures of the two of them, but after looking at them I decided they were a bit inappropriate to put on here! Rylan is almost 8 you know, although I don't think he would care since he is still found streaking around our house and peeing with the door wide open! Ian is such a pleasure, he is so laid back and fun. He loves to babble to himself and anyone who will look at him, and has just recently discovered reaching out for things and holding them. He also loves to suck on his hands. He stopped sleeping through the night though, ugh for a while there he was doing great, but now he usually wakes up around 3:00 a.m. to eat then he is up with everyone at 7 and wants to eat again. Not that bad I guess, he sleeps pretty good during the night except for that one feeding. We moved him into Rylan's room, with the hope that Rylan could help out with putting in the binki or rubbing his back or whatever it takes to help him g...

BREEZI!

Image
My dear sister in law came for a quick visit before driving across the country with her sister in law. We picked her up from the airport (note: the SLC airport has more than one terminal, so make sure you are in the right terminal to pick up someone, sorry girl!) at 11:00, and made our way to Salt Lake City for lunch! It was freezing and snowing a little, so instead of walking around temple square we looked at it from above at the Garden resturant which is 10 floors up in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Madelyn was at grandma and grandpa's house for the week so all I had was Ian, piece of cake! Ian during our lunch deep fried pickles? They were surprisingly delicious! After lunch we went to the distrubution center and bought some things then we headed back to Layton to hang out. We gave her a tour of our house and just chatted! When Rylan came home from school he kept calling her "Meghan" (who came to visit a couple weeks earlier) sorry Breezi, this just goes to sho...
