Rylan's Baptism

Image
My first born! *sniff* hard to believe that he is 8! Doesn't Scott almost look angelic in his whites? :) One rite of passage for a 8 year old boy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is being baptized. Rylan has been waiting for this day for a long time. When you are baptized you become an official member of the church and you make special covenants with Heavenly Father. The covenants are: * Promise to mourn with those that mourn- or help others who are suffering and bear one another's burdens or help each other in our troubles and comfort those who need it. * Be a witness of Jesus Christ - basically WWJD or "what would Jesus do" in the way you act and speak. * Stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places. Madelyn's 3rd Birthday

Image
Our sweet Maddy turned 3 on Sept 9th! Our morning started out with her choice of pancakes for breakfast, not just any pancakes she wanted P INK pancakes! I told her I could manage that! She thought that was the best breakfast ever! One of my favorite things about Maddy is that every morning I get to see this super happy face and that her hair is always completely razzled, ratted, and sticking straight up! I saw this castle idea and thought we would give it a try. I have also decided as a mom to not be super crazy about making a perfect cake, and to let the birthday kid help make it! So we started with four 8X8 strawberry flavored cakes, one of the cakes you cut into fours (I only used three of the pieces because I was afraid that the fourth piece would be too heavy for the cake. Then you frost the whole thin...

This all started when weeks ago I promised Rylan that we could go to Legoland in Atlanta, well when we wanted to book a hotel about a week before and figured out that they haven’t finished building it yet. Oops. Well that weekend we decided to have one of Scott’s classmates over for dinner. His name is also Scott and his wife is Nikki and they have an 8 year old daughter Courtney. Well guess what they were going to go that next weekend?.... to Disney World AND Nikki actually works there from time to time (used to do it full time, but now is a fill in), AND she could get us into all the parks for FREE, plus 40% off lodging. We thought about it for a day then decided to just do it! Scott only has 2 long weekends during this course in South Carolina, labor day and thanksgiving, so if we were going to drive the 7 hours this was the time to do it. Nikki knew a LOT about Disney World, she suggested an itinerary and gave us all sorts of tips and tricks. She gave us ...
