We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

 Ian had his first and last Pinewood Derby with his cub scout pack. Leah was on the scout committee and the Webelos leader for a couple months in the spring, so she was able to help plan it.  He created a sleek design with Scott and painted it grey with some dragon stickers.  He won 5th place and got the Muscle Car Award Madelyn's Activity Day Girls had a pinewood derby as well! She made an ice cream sundae car out of styrofoam balls, clay, batting and pom poms, that girl and her creativity! She did it all by herself! She received the coolest design award!  Another special thing that happened this spring was Madelyn and her dad went to a daddy-daughter dance at her school. They had a wonderful time, and dad (who hates dancing) even danced with her a couple times, but Madelyn mostly enjoyed chatting with her friends.

Ian was so excited to play basketball again for Upward. He had two friends on his team, Abigail from church and Quinn from school. His confidence and skills improved. Madelyn tried basketball for the first time! Her great friend Ashleah is a huge soccer and basketball player and she encouraged Maddy to give it a try, her dad was the coach for the 4th-grade team.  Madelyn enjoyed being on a team and being with her friends, but the game of basketball proved to be a little too vicious for her. She enjoys shooting and playing around with her family but the league she was on was pretty competitive and she felt that all the girls had been playing for a long time so she was behind in skill. But she tried it and didn't quit so we were proud of her. We had a visit from Cooper and Ashley, the kids always love playing with him. Rylan tried out for the Winter Percussion team. Grammy and Papa flew in for the weekend of Ian's baptism. This was their first time in Kentucky and we had a blast showing them around. We  showed them where the kids go to school, where Scott works, and we stopped at Chick-Fil-la for lunch.  We got home in time to watch the kids get off the bus, and give hugs. When Rylan got home, Jody had a special gift for him. When we had a baby shower before he was born Jody had the guests at the shower write down thoughts and well wishes for Rylan to be opened when he was 16, since he is 15 ½  and they were going to be here she gave it to him early. The box that it was in is a wooden box that grandpa John had and got in Germany when he was in the war. He stored his uniform labels in it. We read the cards and it was so fun, a lot of old high school friends and church friends wrote some nice things. Scott and I each wrote something and our favorite was Grandma Adah.
