Silly Maddy

Madelyn is so funny, she has become really vocal. It started out with cooing, then she would spit and blow bubbles to communicate with you...now she lets out short little screams, yelps, giggles. It is soo cute! She is the most vocal at night, in fact she is WILD at night. Right before bedtime, umm kind of like her brother Rylan! (Excuse Scott in the background, he was talking to one of his professors through Skype, and he is a little loud)

Faith Like a Child

We have been looking forward to going to Rexburg this weekend for the baptism of our niece Grace. Rylan has been talking about it non-stop for days...then on Wednesday he woke up with an awful sore throat and cough. He couldn't talk all day, so that night when I put him to bed I told him that if he didn't feel better then we couldn't go be with our family that weekend. He was devastated. Then the next morning he woke up and felt MUCH better, I was really amazed. His throat felt better and he didn't have a cough. I asked him, "Rylan, what did you do?" Rylan said, "Mommy, I prayed to Jesus that I might feel better so I could go play with my cousins." This little kid has a lot of faith!

Preschool Show

I was uploading pictures and found these that I forgot to post! Rylan had a preschool recital last month. He sang songs, did little finger plays and smiled his goofy smile at me and Maddy as we watched. He loves his preschool, and being able to "perform" for everyone. Here is a video of him singing his VERY favorite song, we hear this ringing through our house a lot!

Happy Valentines Day

Madelyn and I are just hanging out at home. It snowed all morning and there is about a foot of new snow on the ground. Scott and Rylan went to a monster truck show in SLC, yes on Valentines day...I know what you are thinking. It is ok, Scott is taking me out tonight. Our Stake (church community) is having a Valentine's dinner and dance that we are going to tonight! The Olive Garden is even catering it! Yum! We are excited to show off some of our dance moves that we have learned with our dance 101 DVD Scott got me for Christmas. Good thing M'Lynn came to visit us this weekend! Yeah! Our favorite babysitter! We will post pics of the monster truck show and dance later...

I'm a big girl

Madelyn is 5 months now! We can't believe it, she is such a sweet baby. She has however decided that no one can hold her unless it is her mom or dad. Everyone wants to hold her but she just fusses and squirms. It takes her a while (like a day) to get used to a new face. She has been trying all sorts of solid food now. Her favorites are rice cereal with apple juice, carrots, and sweet potatoes. Although she isn't a big fan of the packaged baby food, she would much rather eat it straight off of mommy's plate, which is ok with me. Here are some pictures of her trying some solids with Grandma Lynnette. Usually we would put Madelyn in the baby swing while we ate, but she just didn't like that anymore so we have started putting her right up to the table with us... Rylan loves to make his baby sister laugh, here I was trying to feed her and he said something to her which made her laugh so he had to do it over and over again..

Whew!

So last week Madelyn went into see the doctor for her 4 month check-up and I was a little concerned because her right side of her chest is elevated, like it sticks out way more than the left side. So the doctor felt her and was a little concerned and decided to do an x-ray. We headed over to the Radiology section of the medical clinic and we get there and the nurse looks at me and asks if I have anyone to watch Rylan while we do Madelyn's x-ray...."hum I seemed to have left my nanny at home this time...geez!" She suggested that I ask someone from the Pediatrician's office to watch him. So I wander back over there and ask the reception lady if there is a nurse or someone that Ry can hang with while we do the x-ray and she offers to take him to the play room (the medical clinic at the Air Force Base is pretty cool)So after leaving my child with a perfect stranger Maddy and I go back to do a x-ray. Ok so I have been looking into future career paths and considered Radiolo...
