Southern Utah Day 4 & 5

On day four we went to Canyonlands National Park which was about 40 minutes from Moab. It is like a mini Grand Canyon if you ask me. Still very grand and wonderful. We read that they had a Jr. Park Ranger Program, so we stopped at the visitors center and picked up a packet for Rylan. He had to investigate the land, the animals and pick up litter. He learned how to identify what a mesa, butte, canyon, and arch were. Before we left he had to make a pledge with a park ranger and she signed off his book and gave him a badge! He thought that was pretty cool! We went on the Mesa Arch hike which was a short and easy hike with a grand finish. Scott of course wanted to climb the arch with the baby strapped on to him, what? I made him give me the baby and then he convinced Rylan to go with him. My guys are so tough! We later found out that we weren't supposed to climb on the arch oops! Then Scott wanted to go find some more 4x4 trails to drive on. He took Madelyn this time instead. Apparently he didn't go on such a "high" trail this time. Madelyn loved the bumby roads and she was saying "whoa daddy, look at that!" "this is awesome!" They came to a river with a subaru stuck in it up to their windows. Scott was able to pull them out in his big man truck. Day 5 was spent driving from Moab to St. George. We are a bit disapointed with our site here, it isn't as nice. There is currently another RV about 8 ft away from our door and we have to share the picnic table! There is no grass and the kids aren't allowed to ride their bikes. Oh well we will make the most of it. Day six is either hanging out in St George or going to Zion...haven't decided yet.
