Jake and M'Lynn

Image
Our nephew Jake and niece M'Lynn came to visit us this last weekend! We had a blast with them. Rylan absolutely loves his cousins. Jake and M'Lynn lived close to us when Rylan was born and were part of his life when he was a little baby. On Saturday we met up with Margaret and Jeff to go to the Aquarium in Sandy (not as great as we expected, but we were still entertained), then to the Mayan to eat. See my cute baby nephew Benjamin! Ok he is about a month younger than Madelyn, yet he is huge! Those cheeks are just so cute, I love to squeeze them! When my family gets together, we like to have "dance parties" yep, we crank out the music and just let loose. So I set the timer on my camera and took some "action" shots...it was hard to get all of us in the shot since Rylan is short, so there are a couple low shots and some higher shots! Notice that Scott is not in these pictures, well he was (and still is) in Atlanta for a couple days. Even if he was there he wo...

Snuggle Ducky

Madelyn has found her snuggling mate. Rylan has always had his bear and has slept with it every night since he was a little baby. Madelyn really likes this duck, which used to be Rylan's and according to him she is just borrowing it, but I think she might want to keep it as her own!

Safety Violation

So, we had a scary little thing happen..well we were able to completely prevent a scary thing from happening lets say that...Rylan was sick this past week and when he is sick he gets to have a little t.v. in his room to pass the time, otherwise he would be all over the house spreading his germs to everyone and not getting better. Anyway I went into his room to check on him and could hear a cracking sound. I looked all around and found that it was coming from the electrical outlet that the t.v. was plugged into. I unplugged the t.v. and it was still making sounds, luckily Scott came home shortly after my discovery and he took of the plate of the outlet and there were sparks, actual sparks coming off the wires! Freaky! So we turned off the power to Rylan's room until we could have a electrician come look at it. He was able to repair the outlet, no problem, but if one of those sparks would have egnited Rylan's bed which was inches away from the outlet...i don't even want ...

The kiddos

For all you aunts, uncles, grandparents and great-grandparents, here are some cute pictures of Rylan and Madelyn. Maddy loves to lay next to Rylan she hugs his arm and that makes Rylan laugh. The other day Rylan suggested that when we have his baby brother that he can have his room and he (Rylan) can sleep on the couch downstairs. I told him that I wouldn't be having a baby for a long time since I just had Madelyn and she said, "ok but you need to have a brother, then a sister, then another brother." Then he suggested to Scott the other night that we have room for 10 kids at our house, and even the kitchen could be a room for someone.

Sweet Brother

I have to share how sweet Rylan was to Madelyn yesterday while she was getting her shots. We went in and I laid Madelyn on the table and took off her pants. Then I sat down a couple feet away and looked away and said, "tell me when it's over." The nurse laughed at me and I am sure thought I was a super whimp. Rylan was standing over Madelyn and I asked him if he wanted to come sit with me or watch Madelyn get her shots. He said he wanted to watch. I didn't want to make him afraid because I was afraid... by sharing how much I hate shots, (ok I tolerate them, i just do not like watching them go in) I just let him stay. After the first one he was rubbing her little head saying, "It's ok Maddy, I am here, you are ok baby." So sweet! He kept on comforting her, and after the nurse was done, she was done crying too because her sweet brother was helping her. I was very proud of him.

The power of the CTR ring

Image
I recently gave Rylan a CTR ring (for those of you who don't know, CTR is a acronym of the phrase "Choose The Right" that is popular in our church). Rylan was so excited! He has been learning about the phrase, "Choose the Right" for a while now at church in his class. He has been SO good, and he tells me that it is because of this ring. I was putting him to bed last night and he said, "Mommy, I haven't gotten in trouble for a long time! I have been choosing the right, with my ring!" Hey I am not going to break it to him that it wasn't the ring choosing the right it was him...I am loving my obediant little guy for the moment. All I have to say if he is the least bit resistant to obey is..."CTR" and he does what he is supposed to! YES!! I wonder how long this is going to last?

Madelyn 4 months

Image
She will be 4 months this Friday! Where has the time gone. My little precious girl. I had to take pictures of her in this adorable outfit her Aunt Margie got her for Christmas. She also has shoes to match! You see Adah the Great works at a terrific shoe store in Grangeville and the owner Tracy gave us these shoes from the store when Madelyn was born. Too cute! So when I first started taking pictures these are the faces I got. . . Almost as if she was saying...are you kidding mom? Scott, Rylan and I were all trying so hard to get her to smile, this is the ONLY smile we got... We even got a spit face, she loves to blow bubbles and spit, which makes Rylan giggle so hard! Then when we were done trying I picked her up and smelled the smell, that sweet poo smell and I lifted up her little dress and it was all over! How can poo be that powerful? It went through her diaper, her onesie, her tights, her bloomers, and the dress! So much for such a cute outfit, I hope the stain remover wo...
