Thanksgiving 2015

 Thanksgiving does happen in Hawaii, although there were no leaves falling on the ground, only palm fronds, which happens year round!

 Ian made a turkey hat at the library story time.
 On Thanksgiving day we woke up to watch the Macy's Parade, but it was already over!  We are still getting used to the time difference over here. Next year we will record it. I put the kids to work, here they are peeling and mashing potatoes.

 We invited our friends the Beans over for Thanksgiving lunch.   It is really great sharing the food prep with another family.  Then we took a walk to the park and got rained on.  Some more friends came over for football, dessert and swimming.

 The kids watched a movie in the other room, too bad the Packers LOST to the Bears! Scott was really upset but our friend Brian who is from Chicago was pretty happy!

Dare Essay winner

 (Early Spring 2022)  Ian was selected to read his essay at his DARE graduation! They called the top three essays for each class and Ian’s was picked to read for Mr Thompson’s class. They had to read their essay on the spot in front of the whole 5th grade and their parents! He was just getting over a sickness so his voice was a bit crackly but he did great! He got a big trophy too! I had a cough drop and bottled water in my purse in case he needed it, but he didn’t. Mr. Thompson pulled me aside and jokingly said that he has highly considering holding Ian back so he could be in his class again, he just thinks he is the coolest kid.  Ian has also loved Academic Team this year! Grandpa & Grandma Young Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Young drove all the way from Idaho to visit us!  It took them 2 1/2 days because they stopped at Mt. Rushmore, but they got here around 1:00 pm and we were all so excited and when Rylan got off the bus, they were there waiting for him! With G & G Young comes the I-pad which is a good way for Grandmas and Grandpas to get to actually hold their grandkids all they want.   Ian learned quite a bit from the I-pad just from their time here.   Ian has learned to say, "cheese" whenever someone points a camera at him  I am sorry to say that we didn't do that much, and when I asked them what they wanted to do they said that just wanted to watch me be a mom and play with the kids. Rylan and the Beginning of Mission Prep

(Early Spring 2022) Rylan was able to have one last percussion season.
