Ian turns 5!
Can you tell me when my sweet baby turned into a little boy!!!
He is into ninja turtles right now and wanted to have a green ice cream cake and ninja turtle decorations.
He also wanted to go miniature golfing for his birthday which we did about a week later after dad got home from traveling . . .again!
Ian is a spirited 5 year old who loves anything electronic, cars, army guys, action heroes, Star Wars, legos, and playing outside with Madelyn. He also loves to do whatever Rylan is doing and has even let Rylan teach him how to swim in our pool. He loves the beach but is pretty cautious around the waves and won't go too far in unless someone is holding him.
He really enjoyed soccer this year and we were so proud of him for sticking to it and running his little heart out every game. He isn't super aggressive about getting the ball, but if the ball comes to him he will dribble it down the field hard, or pass it to a teammate.
We are constantly trying to get him to do new things and have new experiences, like feeding this love bird, he tried it, but didn't especially like it. He surprises us with his vocabulary and how he manages to know what we are talking about when we think he is not listening. Like one day I turned around and he was meditating on the floor behind me! I asked him what he was doing and he said that he was "clearing his mind."
He is a deep thinker, and he asks the best questions. Like when we were petting a baby sea turtle and he was very concerned that he was not underwater and asked the trainer how the heck is he breathing?
We found a very calm little tide pool near our home where he feels comfortable snorkeling. He stalked a moorish idol fish for about 20 minutes.
He is such a sweetheart, and is the best buddy to have around.
Some other fun facts about Ian:*He likes to cuddle when watching a show

*He is afraid of monsters at night but the cure for this is a Yoda poster next to his bed, and they can't get him if he has his sheets over his face.

He still is a really picky eater, and most dinner times look like this. Sometimes he flat our refuses, or he will try it and like it, or he will try it and almost throw up. We don't make him eat food he doesn't like (we have before and he has barfed), but if he wants to eat something else he has to try it and that something else has to be a fruit or vegetable.
He is so sweet when he sleeps!
We caught him skinny dipping one afternoon
He is currently playing t-ball and loving it.
It is so fun to see his little personality shine through. He is the best kid, and he has amazing potential! We love you Ian!
