Madelyn' 5th Birthday

 

 Madelyn's 5th birthday started off with her opening all her many birthday cards she got from Grandparents.  She holds each of them very special, and has been opening them up over and over, and carrying them around with her. 

 We had a busy day of playing with friends, going to the dentist (who Maddy loves), getting some party supplies,  and making her My Little Pony Cake.  I love letting the kids help me with their birthday cakes,  especially since Rylan had just snubbed me a couple weeks before and sad that he didn't want to make a cake with me.  We found a picture of a cake and decided that was the one we were going to make.  It was my first time using fondant.

 Madelyn started the rainbow

 Then completed it with marshmallows for clouds  and some premade flowers, a pony and some candles.

 Then we had some extra skittles to line the bottom edge

 All done, my happy 5 year old!

 Rylan gave her a jean purse that he had made when he was staying with Grammy and Papa's

 Maddy got a bracelet making kit, she loves jewelry!

 

We sang the birthday song and then played limbo

 

then hide and go seek in the dark, and danced. Madelyn planned the whole evening!

 

Madelyn is a lot like her dad.  She is super smart, friendly, mischievous, loves to laugh, and tease.  She is inquisitive, asks a lot of questions, and is really confident in herself.  When you give her a compliment like you are so nice she will say, "yeah I know that I am,"  or say "of course I am" Yet she has a heart of gold when others are hurting. She can be so sweet to her little brother and she loves to be in charge of him and give him scenarios to play out. Yet he is still her little brother and can irritate her, mostly when he takes her things when she is playing with them. 

 

But Ian lets her do this:

paint his nails pink, and he doesn't care!

 

 

 She loves to TALK!  It is constant from the moment she is awake until she is in her bed about to fall asleep.  Even if she isn't directly talking to someone she is in constant dialogue with herself or with her toys or singing a song.

 This is a drawing she drew of our family, there are about 20+ of these all over, notice the three bigger people and three smaller people, she still draws M'Lynn in her family pictures! 

 

I love my daughter, she is a joy to be around!
