One Last Stop

Our last stop was to visit Lindsey and Meghan, my old high school friends.  It is so fun to sit back and watch our kids play together.  It was over 100 degrees so Lindsey brought out the pool for the kids.

 Kendall and Ian had a surprising sharing moment,  I will push you . . .
 and then you can push me!
 Kendall even shared her popsicle with Ian. . .then he was taking forever and she told him, "no more kid!"  Yes she called all the other kids, "kid" until she learned their names.
 We got to meet baby Madelynn, who is such a precious, smiley little girl!  Maddy loved that the baby had the same name as her!
 This was after we were out in the hot sun, sweating and wrangling with kids...still hot right?

 We said goodbye and headed east, we stopped at Mt. Rushmore
 It was pretty remarkable to see!
 One tired couple from driving
 Our home away from home.  We love our little camper, it is so nice to stop and not have to unload anything, have a bathroom readily accessible (which we had to pull over and use more than once), be able to cook a real meal while traveling, and stay over night relatively cheap.  It was great to have on our way home (we had to leave it at Scott's parents place when we moved last summer).
It was a fantastic trip, and it was hard to drive home knowing that it was going to be another 6-12 months before we saw our family again.

The good-byes are always the worst. I'm jealous of your camper though. That would be the way to do a cross country drive for sure!

Dare Essay winner

 (Early Spring 2022)  Ian was selected to read his essay at his DARE graduation! They called the top three essays for each class and Ian’s was picked to read for Mr Thompson’s class. They had to read their essay on the spot in front of the whole 5th grade and their parents! He was just getting over a sickness so his voice was a bit crackly but he did great! He got a big trophy too! I had a cough drop and bottled water in my purse in case he needed it, but he didn’t. Mr. Thompson pulled me aside and jokingly said that he has highly considering holding Ian back so he could be in his class again, he just thinks he is the coolest kid.  Ian has also loved Academic Team this year! Grandpa & Grandma Young Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Young drove all the way from Idaho to visit us!  It took them 2 1/2 days because they stopped at Mt. Rushmore, but they got here around 1:00 pm and we were all so excited and when Rylan got off the bus, they were there waiting for him! With G & G Young comes the I-pad which is a good way for Grandmas and Grandpas to get to actually hold their grandkids all they want.   Ian learned quite a bit from the I-pad just from their time here.   Ian has learned to say, "cheese" whenever someone points a camera at him  I am sorry to say that we didn't do that much, and when I asked them what they wanted to do they said that just wanted to watch me be a mom and play with the kids. They even babysat while Scott and I went to a dance, and when Scott was out of town I went to play with friends one Friday.  I felt guilty leaving but they insisted on letting me have a night out away from kids.  We did hav...

Rylan and the Beginning of Mission Prep

(Early Spring 2022) Rylan was able to have one last percussion season.
