Other Spring Events 2014
I saw a flyer that a local high school was putting on a production of Beauty & the Beast, and I thought that Madelyn would enjoy that. She is getting older and more fun to hang out with, she will talk your ear off and ask you the most random questions. She is a total delight when she doesn't have to compete for your attention! We had so much fun together. She dressed up in her best princess attire since we were going to see a show about a real princess we thought it would be appropriate. As we were waiting in line to get in people were stopping her and telling her that she looked pretty and that she must be a real princess. During intermission as we were making our way back to our seats after a potty stop, one elderly gentleman bowed at her and yelled, "everyone make way for the princess" as we walked down the aisle! Madelyn was on cloud nine! She sat perfectly still during the whole performance and was mesmerized by the singing, acting, special effects and props. She loved the play and asked if we could go again!
on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day they have a big parade and put dye into the Chicago River, we didn't make it down for the parade but in the afternoon we took the kids downtown to see the river.
Yep, it sure is green!
Scott had a day off in the middle of the week and the weather was decent so we took the kids to the river walk in Naperville
and had a ice cream with a cookie dough scoop on top!
Another thing that happened this winter/spring was that we sold our camper :( We have loved having it and made a lot of great memories with it, but it was time to say goodbye. These are all the places that we have been in it, we got a bumper sticker every time we stopped and stayed the night somewhere in it.
Selling the camper also meant that we sold our truck too, but I am not really sad about that I have to say. That thing was a beast to drive, but I never did hit anything in it!
After selling both of these and Scott's motorcycle we were able to buy a new Jeep Wrangler and we love it.
