Rylan's Writing

I am so pleased with my little Rylan.  He is doing so well in school.  He really struggled last year when we moved in the middle of the year because the schools were at different levels.  Illinois has a higher level of education and he was behind when we got here, but thanks to insightful teachers, speech therapists, aids, and a wonderful principal we feel like he is finally caught up and at the same level as his classmates.  I met with his teacher last night and she just adores him and tells me that he is so kind and friendly with everyone.  He doesn't single anyone out, but he is friends with everyone.  I think he might be hesitant to make a close friend, because we have moved so much in his little life. She also said that he participates well, makes good choices and tries to influence the rest of the class to do the right thing.  That makes me feel so proud!  For scripture study each morning we are working on memorizing the Articles of Faith http://mormon.org/articles-of-faith/.  They are basically the foundational principles of what we believe in, so that when someone asks him what his church is all about, he can tell them.  I hope that he can have the faith and confidence to share these things with others.

One of the things he has been struggling with is writing his ideas on paper.  He wrote this paragraph about what he was thankful for.  Not only is it written well, it is so cute!

I love how he thinks that his dad protects the world, and you know what, in his little mind he probably really believes that!  Scott is pretty tough!
