Grangeville

Now that we have been in South Carolina for a couple weeks and things are unpacked I can finally feel like I have some free time to blog. After we were in Rexburg we headed north to Grangeville for 4th of July festivites. The kids were very excited for the parade and festivites. Here they are in their 4th of July outfits.

Poor Rylan had the worst allergies while we were there, and Ian had a huge mosquito bite on his forehead. Their shirts say; "My daddy is protecting our freedom"

Adah the Great is a baby whisperer, she took great care of Ian and always seemed to get him to sleep without a fuss. She even took care of Ian & Maddy for us while we went to the rodeo one night.

Waiting for the parade

Maddy was beyond excited. Rylan had been talking up the parade for days. "Look mom, horses!" "Candy!"
Rylan participated in the street races and of course we did the egg toss.

Scott & Rylan crossing the finish line of the 5K firecracker run.

Rylan and Madelyn dressed up for the kiddie parade. Orignally Rylan wanted to be a pirate (don't ask me why) but changed his mind and just decided to wear his American flag shirt with his dad's picture on it. We decorated his bike with red, white, and blue stars and pom poms. Madelyn was infatuated with the rodeo queens and princessess, so we made her a queen for the parade. She had on a dress with pink cowgirl boots, a cowgirl hat with tiara, and a sash that said "Future Rodeo Queen." Her outfit wasn't complete without her stick horse Chester that our neighbors gave us, oh my word she loves that thing! Here is a video of them at the parade.

Isn't Maddy's gallop hilarious! She even waved to the crowd a couple times!

At the family rodeo I was taking Madelyn potty when she saw one of the Rodeo Royalty. She marched right up to her and said, "are you a real princess?"

"well, yes I am."

Maddy: "Do you have a horse?"

"Yes I do."

Maddy: " I like your sparkly." ( her sash)

It was the highlight of her little life, meeting a real princess!

This is a picture of Scott, well the version of Scott when he comes home to his rustic roots. He pulls out the boots, hat, belt buckle and cowboy shirt. Since he doesn't have to go to work (where he is required to be clean shaven) he lets his facial hair go too. I have to document it because I think he is super sexy as a cowboy!

Some other highlights:
Rylan learning how to shoot his BB gun

Madelyn fishing, she caught her first ranbow trout
Madelyn and her cousin Lexi

The men on their boat going fishing

Rylan was in love with Aunt Lonalee's puppy Sassy

Rylan's catch of the day

Maddy barebacking on Sprinkles

At the end of the day this is what Maddy looks like, dirty marshmellows all around her face

Scott & his dad

Papa Doug got to meet Ian for the first time

cousins with the same ethiopian bodies

We love to match! Hillbilly lovers.

Ian got a haircut

Ian being rocked by Grammy in the quilt she made him and John the Great embrodiered

We had a blast! We love to be home with our family! Miss you guys!
