Halloween Preview



It has become tradition to go to Gardner Village in October with our friends the Tophams.

They have witches hidden all over that the kids have to find in a scavenger hunt. If they find all of the witches on their list they get a cookie for 25 cents at the bakery.

They also have a fun wagon ride where they take you to a real witches house. The women that play the witches are HILARIOUS! They interact with the crowd and tell us gastly stories of rotten apples, frog-eyed stew, and their sister who was turned into a goat. They also talk in sort-of an English acent, which makes my friend Karin and I do so also!
Maddy was a witch as well, and she loved dressing up, it took some convincing to wear the hat, but once she saw Shelby wearing hers and the other witches she loved it. The witches wanted to keep her, Maddy was more interested in picking up rocks and petting their goat sister! We tired to get her to cackle like a witch but she was too nervous and the witch in the red tried to teach her to do a witch face, but Maddy just stared at her in unbelief!


We love the fall season!

Dare Essay winner

 (Early Spring 2022)  Ian was selected to read his essay at his DARE graduation! They called the top three essays for each class and Ian’s was picked to read for Mr Thompson’s class. They had to read their essay on the spot in front of the whole 5th grade and their parents! He was just getting over a sickness so his voice was a bit crackly but he did great! He got a big trophy too! I had a cough drop and bottled water in my purse in case he needed it, but he didn’t. Mr. Thompson pulled me aside and jokingly said that he has highly considering holding Ian back so he could be in his class again, he just thinks he is the coolest kid.  Ian has also loved Academic Team this year! Grandpa & Grandma Young Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Young drove all the way from Idaho to visit us!  It took them 2 1/2 days because they stopped at Mt. Rushmore, but they got here around 1:00 pm and we were all so excited and when Rylan got off the bus, they were there waiting for him! With G & G Young comes the I-pad which is a good way for Grandmas and Grandpas to get to actually hold their grandkids all they want.   Ian learned quite a bit from the I-pad just from their time here.   Ian has learned to say, "cheese" whenever someone points a camera at him  I am sorry to say that we didn't do that much, and when I asked them what they wanted to do they said that just wanted to watch me be a mom and play with the kids. Rylan and the Beginning of Mission Prep

(Early Spring 2022) Rylan was able to have one last percussion season.
