Maddy's 2nd birthday

Madelyn turned 2 on Sept 9th! We went camping with Grammy and Papa and the Brant family during labor day weekend so we celebrated there and at home.

I thought this was a cute picture of Scott helping Rylan use a knife to carve a stick.

For her home celebration we opened some presents, and went to our new favorite ice cream place Menchies:




Then the next day we went to the Utah State Fair. We grew up going to the fair, but this fair was HUGE! Maddy really wanted to see the pigs, she thought they were pretty funny. They had a little tikes farm exhibit, where the kids got to pick apples, plant seeds, harvest their crops, drive a tractor, gather eggs from the chicken, feed a cow, milk a cow, and then sell their crops for money that they got to spend at a general store.
















They both thought this was super fun and wanted to do it over and over!

Dare Essay winner

 (Early Spring 2022)  Ian was selected to read his essay at his DARE graduation! They called the top three essays for each class and Ian’s was picked to read for Mr Thompson’s class. They had to read their essay on the spot in front of the whole 5th grade and their parents! He was just getting over a sickness so his voice was a bit crackly but he did great! He got a big trophy too! I had a cough drop and bottled water in my purse in case he needed it, but he didn’t. Mr. Thompson pulled me aside and jokingly said that he has highly considering holding Ian back so he could be in his class again, he just thinks he is the coolest kid.  Ian has also loved Academic Team this year! Grandpa & Grandma Young Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Young drove all the way from Idaho to visit us!  It took them 2 1/2 days because they stopped at Mt. Rushmore, but they got here around 1:00 pm and we were all so excited and when Rylan got off the bus, they were there waiting for him! With G & G Young comes the I-pad which is a good way for Grandmas and Grandpas to get to actually hold their grandkids all they want.   Ian learned quite a bit from the I-pad just from their time here.   Ian has learned to say, "cheese" whenever someone points a camera at him  I am sorry to say that we didn't do that much, and when I asked them what they wanted to do they said that just wanted to watch me be a mom and play with the kids. Rylan and the Beginning of Mission Prep

(Early Spring 2022) Rylan was able to have one last percussion season.
