Thanksgiving



Our Thanksgiving holiday started with Rylan's Thanksgiving program. Isn't he cute! Scott was able to go help with his class and their feast. He was in charge of a game, and dishing up the plates for all of the kindergartners.

Then we headed up to Grangeville to spend time with the Hooglands. This is Grammy and Papa's (although Papa won't claim her) dog Scamp. She was adopted from an old neighbor and Rylan just loves her.



Rylan also loves Sprinkles and Nugget. Papa built this feeding area to put hay in and it is perfect for Rylan to get right up to the horses while they are eating, and not get kicked.



When Scott and I went to Colorado we brought Rylan back a slingshot, and Grammy and Papa's house is perfect for a slingshot, there are rocks to shoot, and little critters running around to aim at...however Rylan was told that if he shot an animal he would have to eat it. He aimed at trees instead.

I love the "if you shoot it, you eat it" philosophy. Great idea!

The shootingest thing we have is a crossbow with little styrofoam arrows ... but, then again, we have two girls and the oldest is 4.

i didn't get a picture of her on santa's lap...I didn't force her to sit on him. I just set her on his lap and she was screaming ao I picked her right up, I knew it would happen. She has major stranger issues, which is good because Rylan never did and still doesn't...scary!

Dare Essay winner

 (Early Spring 2022)  Ian was selected to read his essay at his DARE graduation! They called the top three essays for each class and Ian’s was picked to read for Mr Thompson’s class. They had to read their essay on the spot in front of the whole 5th grade and their parents! He was just getting over a sickness so his voice was a bit crackly but he did great! He got a big trophy too! I had a cough drop and bottled water in my purse in case he needed it, but he didn’t. Grandpa & Grandma Young Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Young drove all the way from Idaho to visit us!  It took them 2 1/2 days because they stopped at Mt. Rushmore, but they got here around 1:00 pm and we were all so excited and when Rylan got off the bus, they were there waiting for him! With G & G Young comes the I-pad which is a good way for Grandmas and Grandpas to get to actually hold their grandkids all they want.   Ian learned quite a bit from the I-pad just from their time here.   Ian has learned to say, "cheese" whenever someone points a camera at him  I am sorry to say that we didn't do that much, and when I asked them what they wanted to do they said that just wanted to watch me be a mom and play with the kids. Rylan and the Beginning of Mission Prep

(Early Spring 2022) Rylan was able to have one last percussion season.
