Border Days in Grangeville, Idaho!
My last couple posts are totally out of date..so here is the LONG post that I have been putting off. For the 4th of July we always try to make it up to Grangeville, Idaho because well 1st that is where Scott's parents live, and 2nd because during the 4th they have Border Days which is three days of FUN! Parades, egg tosses, foot races, strawberry shortcake, the most delicious scones, rodeos, and of course family! During Border Days we get to see all of Scott's super fun cousins and as a treat not only did we get to see them we celebrated with Jody's friends Tom and Rose from Arizona!
Ok first off we will start with the kiddie parade. It is only for kids to be in and they can do or be whatever they want! Rylan and his cousins (well mostly me and the cousins mom Kezia) planned way in advance that it would be fun to build a pirate ship to play in while we are all together, then it somehow through the dreams of Rylan turned into what the kids were going to do for the kiddie parade. So Uncle Ken got a refridgerator box and thanks to the artistic genius of Dustin and a box cutter the ship was made.

The boys painted it and with some sticks and duct tape we suspended the ship onto Kezia's joggind stroller. YES! Adah the Great also supplied some pillowcases for the sale. Here they are marching down main street! They were a hit!

Maddy had a great time exploring Grammy and Papa's house. New toys and lots of things to get into. Grammy recently struck gold at a yard sale when she found a bunch of super hero costumes. Here Madelyn and Rylan...uh...I mean Batman are playing together.

Maddy has a serious outie just like Breezi's old cabbage patch kid.

This next set is a series captured by Grammy Jody....

Scott is playing with Maddy, she loves to be thrown up by her daddy.
Next...

this is Scott getting in trouble by his grandmother Adah...she said something like, "don't you jiggle those little baby brains" or "don't hurt my great-grand baby!"
here is a close up of her concerned face...

Isn't she cute!
Scott's aunt Lonalee from Caldwell has been raising all sorts of animals, but her home and yard was getting too small for all of them, so she brought a bunch of her "babies" and let them go off into the wild of Grammy and Papa's land. One of the animals she brought was a baby turkey. We didn't know just how much she domesticated these animals until this baby turkey followed our friend Tom up the stairs onto the deck!

Then he decided to get friendly with dad!

This face is classic! I think he was saying, "oh don't you get too comfortable there!"

"This is what we do to turkeys around here."
Rose took pity on him and took him from Doug, and the turkey stayed perched on her shoulder for a couple minutes!

I stayed inside the whole time and watched from the window. I didn't want it climbing on me..gross!
While we were being entertained by the turkey (who we named "Tom") Scott and Rylan were at the rodeo. Scott came home with a sexy cowboy hat! WHOO! When we went out the next night and he wore it I couldn't help myself in taking his picture. I had to sneak up on him, or he would give me a weirdo face.

Here are some other random pictures from our time there.

"Hey I want to go outside too!"

Rylan and J.T. playing the famous hockey squirting game! (Every time we go to Grammy's house the kids all ask for this game.)

The olive monster!

Adah the Great sharing some wisdom with Madelyn.

Mama Jody showed me how to make Spazla, a German noodle. Yummy!
