Thanksgiving 2012

Moving over here in the middle of the country the one thing that made me feel at ease was that we would be near some family...6 hours away from Scott's sister Breezi!  They have lived in Ohio since they were first married so they have been away from us for a long time.  We knew we had to have one of the holidays together this year, so Thanksgiving it was!  They arrived Wednesday night just in time for Breezi to give me a turkey lesson.  She showed me how to prep it, we seasoned it and then we cooked it over night.  My first turkey!

Scott is a champion mashed potato maker. . .

Alli and Rylan made these turkey centerpieces and put them next to the flowers
We have to take a mashed potato picture...it's a Hoogland tradition!
All these pictures on this post were taken by Breezi (thanks sis) with her new camera, she captured this cute one of Maddy!
Since we were all together, Grammy back in Idaho was dying to have us take a picture of all of us together...here ya go!
Ok this is a little better
Alli and Rylan are best buds especially since they spent two weeks of the summer together at Oma & Opa's house in Virginia.  They were always busy playing something and keeping busy.  Maggie and Madelyn were the same way, they are great friends, which is so fun to see.  They all kept each other occupied and happy.  Ian had some territorial issues with his twin cousins Miles and Dexter, he just got a little over whelmed by not one but TWO kids playing with his toys!  Just a few more years and they will be friends I'm sure.  Those twins were so fun to watch, I noticed that if one got a toy like a car from the toy box he would always find another and give it to his brother!  So sweet!

Breezi and I had so much fun together, we got to go shopping kid free, and we had some hair make-overs! Our class mate's daughter was cutting her hair and taking pledges to donate to a family with a little girl with cancer.  We were inspired and decided to donate our hair too!  We found a posh little salon in Hinsdale

 Before
and after!  We both donated about 12 inches to Wigs for Kids! Breezi's hair is a LOT thicker than mine! I love my new hair, it is so fun and sassy and easy to do!
Scott's uncle Staten was driving south from Michigan to Tennessee with his new bride Courtney.  We all met up with him in Indiana for lunch.

A cute shot of M'Lynn with Ali and Rylan.

It was a great Thanksgiving weekend!
