Christmas 2012

For Christmas Eve we like to have a big dinner then act out the Nativity.  Ian was our Joseph...(don't mind the sheep in the background coming down the stairs :)

Had to get one more picture of Joseph, what a cutie!

The Sheppard and his sheep.  Madelyn really wanted to be a sheep, nothing else, and she was "Baaa-ing" during the whole thing....the Angel had to tell her to be quiet (I was the angel and the photographer so there are no pictures of me.)
Scott will forever be our narrator because he is too much of a party pooper to ever dress up.  Here he is delivering the WORD!

M'Lynn played along and was Mary
 Admiring the baby Jesus
Then we listened to the Handel's Messiah and the Halleluiah chorus.  Love that music.  We put the kids to bed then M'Lynn and Scott had a secret mission to the airport.  I cannot believe that we kept the secret this long from the kids.  We had some close calls, like when a person at our church came up to M'Lynn the Sunday before Christmas in front of the kids and asked..."so what day are your parents coming?" Scott also had a hard time keeping his mouth quiet about it and we would have to finish his sentences with..."you mean when they come at the end of MAY to pick up M'Lynn?!?!?"

Rylan was so surprised, he had a big look of shock when he saw his Uncle Ira, Aunt Teralym, and cousin Jake under the Christmas tree!  Maddy was pretty happy to see them too!

Ian loves Thomas the Train, he got a remote control one that blows steam!

Rylan wanted a 7-11 Slurpee maker

I think I will have a candy cane for breakfast

Madelyn got a Barbie house from Santa

Uncle Ira is the best barbie playing companion, he got right in and started playing with Madelyn, and the rest of us just laughed at their conversations and play.  Madelyn likes to line up her loot so she can see it all together, her line got a little too big and got in the way of the stairs so we had to get her a box.

Next up was a tea party complete with English accents, she thought that was the best fun ever!

Ira & Teralyn gave the kids slippers, aren't they cute!

Grammy & Papa Hoogland gave Ian a horse trailer with horses, he played and played with that and we had to stop his presents from coming, because he didn't want to open them.  He loves horses!

A Belle doll from Grandma and Grandpa Young!
We had such a fun Christmas day playing with our new things and being with the Youngs.  They made a list of fun things to do while they were here, we decided to join them for the Museum of Science and Industry.  Our favorite exhibit is always the baby chicks hatching.

Ian's new love of trains made the train exhibit exciting for him!  I loved having four extra pairs of arms to hold  the kids and watch over them.

We loved having them here, Rylan cried probably the whole day they left, he was so sad. He kept saying, "why can't we live in Rexburg?!"  I loved the extra attention that my kids got from everyone, they were in heaven, there was always someone to play with and Ira, Teralyn and Jake were always willing to play, read books, wrestle, and listen.  Jake even built about 3 Halo Lego sets for Rylan!  Ira let the little ones jump on his bed, and they took the kids to the Aquarium for a day! Probably the best gift Scott and I received was they let us leave the kids with them for a night while we went on an anniversary trip! That post is to come. . .

I am so glad they made it! Tera was a nervous wreck they would be delayed by snow. I think Ian is the most adorable Joseph ever and Maddie's slippers were the best! Glad you had a great Christmas...we miss and love you! ~Heather
