Pretty Muddy Run

I live in the best ward!  There are a lot of women my age, all are as different as can be but we all share one common thing, a love for Christ. Everyone is so nice and really good about including everyone, there are no cliques and when one sister wants to go do something she invites everybody and usually there are a couple other women who want to join in, movie nights, dinners, crafts, game nights, and. . .Mud Runs!  I was at a dinner with some women and they started talking about doing a mud run coming up so I decided why not! We spread the word and pretty soon we had a pretty nice group! It was a 5K which is about what I try and do at the gym, plus there are obstacles, and lots of MUD!  Ok so the mud was really only at the end of the course, but it was still lots of fun.

My friend Lisa made shirts for us with good ol' puffy paint and a T-shirt sale at Michaels. They said "Muddy Mormons"  yep that's what we are!
There we all are before our start time, nice and clean
The 5K part went by so fast, there was a couple climbing walls, an inflatable slide,  we had to run a portion with a 2X4 on our shoulders, but there wasn't that much mud until the end when you had to crawl under the banners in this mud pit!

Crossing the finish line

A toast with some refreshing water

The leg picture, most of us left our shoes there...nasty!

 The after pictures:

After the race, we rinsed off, changed into flip-flops and walked around to look at the vendors.   Then we drove home and the places where we still had mud, like the face had dried and we had to scrape if off in the shower, owie!  It was so fun to play in the mud!
