Myrtle Beach
We have been wanting to go to Myrtle Beach for a long time now, but things kept coming up, sickness, a hurricane. We finally had a weekend free so we packed up and headed to the beach. Scott had the Friday off so as soon as we were packed and ready we got Rylan out of school around 1:30 and we were on our way. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get there. Scott found a 2 bedroom condo for the weekend at a great price. It was right next to a golf course with a little creek running next to it. We had a screened in porch. . .
A full kitchen with all appliances and dishware
A dinning table and living area, plus a master bedroom with king size bed and a another room with two twin beds

We checked in, had dinner then drove to the beach.
SEASHELLS!

By then it was a bit windy and the sun was starting to set
But that didn't stop the kids from being excited! The water felt so warm compared to the Pacific Coast. We walked to a pier and by the time we turned back it was dark, but the kids loved to walk barefoot with the water crashing on their feet.

The next day we went to the Aquarium

They had a underwater tunnel
and an exhibit about sharks, the kids liked getting super close to them in this bubble

They also had a mermaid that you could meet and take a picture with, (for only $22.99). We met her but didn't purchase the picture (they wouldn't let us use our own camera).

Then we went shopping on the boardwalk
Had lunch at Joe's CrabShack where there was a magician who made the kids balloon animals and even showed Rylan how to do a magic trick since Rylan told him he was going to be a magician for Halloween. He just needs a little bit more practice and then he can wow the people we go trick-or-treating to in a couple weeks
During the afternoon we went back to the beach with the intent of actually going in
Rylan was the bravest one of all, he was constantly in and out of the water
Madelyn was content on collecting seashells. . . until dad made her go in with him! She was actually having a great time jumping waves until a big one splashed over her head and onto her face.

Dad made it up to her by making her into a mermaid!
Then Rylan wanted to be buried too

into a starfish!

Ian loved the sand too. He loved to feel it in his hands and he kept crawling FAST towards the ocean! He looked like a little sea turtle trying to get to sea! He loved to feel the water crash onto his legs too

It was a very fun vacation, perfect weather, happy kids, good seafood, couldn't have asked for more!
