New School Year 2012

Rylan our 3rd grader! His Oma hooked him up with some Virginia shirts.  He couldn't wait to wear this shirt on his first day of school.  There he is walking to his bus stop.  His backpack was filled to the brim with school supplies. Am I a mean mom because I didn't drive him to school on his first day?  I told him to be tough and that the neighbor kids were taking the bus too, so he would be fine.  Then I learned that the neighbor kids' parents brought the supplies to school for them.  Oh well he survived!                                                                  Waiting for the bus!  Sassy Maddy insisted that she was g...

The Rest of Our Summer in Pictures

We went into the city to the north beach only to find that there is no parking next to the beach, you have to park in the city in a garage pay $20 cash (which we had to find an ATM to get) and walk a 5+ blocks to the beach.  Well with three kids, a cooler, a beach bag, sand toys, that was a big deal!  We had to find the tunnel that went under the busy street and led to the beach, we asked a old gentleman who was walking his dog where it was, he told us the cross streets then looked at our crew and said, "make sure you don't stay there after dark!"  Ok, that was reassuring!  We set up a spot and had a good time in the sand, Rylan is the only one who ventured in the cold water, but he had a blast! I had the privledge of going to girls camp with the youth in our ward.  We had so much fun, prayers were answered miracles happened, and i was truly uplifted being with these girls. . .  and working with this lady:...

One Last Stop

Our last stop was to visit Lindsey and Meghan, my old high school friends.  It is so fun to sit back and watch our kids play together.  It was over 100 degrees so Lindsey brought out the pool for the kids.  Kendall and Ian had a surprising sharing moment,  I will push you . . .  and then you can push me!  Kendall even shared her popsicle with Ian. . .then he was taking forever and she told him, "no more kid!"  Yes she called all the other kids, "kid" until she learned their names.  We got to meet baby Madelynn, who is such a precious, smiley little girl!  Maddy loved that the baby had the same name as her!  This was after we were out in the hot sun, sweating and wrangling with kids...still hot right?  All of our kids  Madelyn and Kendall had a great time together  and Ian fit right in with his flower bow!  We said goodbye and headed east, we stopped at Mt. Rushmore  It was pret...
