We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

While we were in Grangeville for Border Days, Scott's talented cousin Kezia took our family pictures! This gorgeous scenery is right up the road from Scott's mom and dad's property. Kezia had her work cut out for her because our little Madelyn was a wild child! Kezia affectionatly calls her hummingbird, and we think that fits because she will stand still for about 3 seconds then before you can get a picture she is off and running in the opposite direction. I graduated 10 years ago? No way! We drove up to northern Idaho yet again just for my 10-year reunion. It was a really quick trip we drove to Grangeville stayed the night, then took the kids to Lewiston, and played at the river. Scott and I have great memories of playing on "our" river as we call it. We considered renting a boat, but we thought the kids would have more fun in the sand anyway. We were tickled to see that our kids are regular beach bums! They loved playing in the sand. Rylan dug a hole and filled it up with water. Maddy jumped over the waves that were made by the boats going by, and Scott took Rylan out in our little two-man raft Grammy took the kids home with her after her work day in Lewiston, then we met up with my highschool friend Lindsey and her husband Kyle that night. On our way up to our traditonal Border Days celebration we stopped at Anna's. We took the kids to the market, and Anna got these great shots of the kids: Grammy and Papa's house is filled with wild animals, including this cute baby bunny! Papa caught it just so he could show the kids and let them hold and pet it. Cowboy Papa thought that Madelyn needed her own pair of pink boots. She saw them and wanted them too. She tried them on and was walking with her legs spread out (like she just got off a long horse ride) and she was really concentraing on talking slow steps. We think she was getting used to the slight heel on the boot. Pretty soon she was able to walk normal in them, and she didn't want to TAKE THEM OFF! We also went camping along the river. Uncle Ken was kind enough to let us use his trailer so I wouldn't have to get up in the middle of the night, crawl out of the tent and find the bathrooms in the dark (which I have to do a couple times a night)! The day after the Wasatch Back race I had a full night's sleep (finally) and then woke up bright and early to fly out to Ohio to visit Chip and Breezi's family! It was the only time off we had all summer, and Scott had some free sky miles to use. So I flew solo, then Scott and Maddy came the next morning (to save money Scott did a red eye flight). Rylan went home with my mom and dad who had been watching the kids while we did the race. We had so much fun holding and cuddling those babies. This was the first time that Scott met Maggie, who just turned 4! The Kohrman family hadn't met Madelyn either! A visit was long over due. I made quilts for the twins Dexter and Miles.

This race was way back in June, but really it seams like I haven't had one second to sit down and write about it! What a race! It was 188 miles from Logan, UT to Park City, UT. Our team had 12 people on it, 6 in each "van" it was crazy! Our team started in the mid morning of Friday, but our van of 6 didn't have to start until that afternoon. I was the first person to run in our group, I didn't know who the guy was that was passing the baton over to me, but our team mates helped me spot him. We were invited to join this team by Scott's old commander LTC Clay and his wife Linda. The other members on their team were neighbors and church members of them so we didn't know anyone, but everyone was so very nice and fun to talk to. Ok so back to my first leg, it was up in Eden, UT (which was where I met Scott during his Ogden marathon because Eden was half way). It was beautiful and in the upper 70's so it got hot fast. Rylan is officially no longer a kindergartner. He will be going into first grade at the end of July! He is very excited to eat lunch at school and have three recesses. I am not sure if he realizes just how long a whole school day is going to be, but he will figure it out. He loves school and loved his teacher Mrs. Jacobs this year. I loved her too, she was fantastic, very organized and structured and great with the kids. I was able to volunteer in Ry's class every Monday for an hour, and I learned a lot from her. Here is Rylan with his teacher at his kindergarten program. This next picture is of our crazy sleeper Rylan, he is always all over the place and sometimes at night Scott and I hear a loud "BOOM" upstairs and we look at each other and laugh and say, "Rylan fell out of bed again!"
