We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

We had Rylan's Eagle Court of Honor on a Sunday afternoon with his friend Jonah Shirts. Scott and Brother Shirts wrote a script and we had Brother McMurtrey the YM president conduct. Mateo Lewis  Sis Chadwick Max Beltran We weren’t sure how many people would share comments about Rylan because he didn’t grow up in this ward like Jonah had, so we printed some comments from past leaders and teachers for who was conducting to read, here is what he read: 1)   Rylan is an honest and hardworking young man. He is humble, a little bit shy, and self-motivated person that other scouts look up to and is a good role model for the younger scouts.  I wish more young men were like him. 2)   As a coach and a teacher I look for individuals that work extremely hard while having a smile on their face when times get difficult. In October and November of 2018, between his freshman year of highschool, marching band and cross country Rylan and Scott knocked out his Eagle Project for Saunder Springs Nature Preserve. They made 3 arches and signs for biking trails as well as trail markers for a 3 mile trail.  To start they bought wood and sanded it. Then printed names of the trails to use as templates for the router. Scott cut the names, and Rylan painted.                                       Then more sanding  His friends Jonah and Mateo came to help one Saturday afternoon. Then during a rainy scout campout they put in the trail markers and on a Saturday in November, they put in the arches.  With the project done all he had to do was the board of review.  Our dear friends the Foxes came to visit us!  It was their spring break a couple weeks after ours and they stopped by for the weekend on their way to Nashville.  We took them to the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace and boyhood home. Mammoth cave to do the Domes and Dripstones Tour. They drove us out to the entrance by bus and we had a park ranger in front and a park ranger in the back, and about 75 people on the tour. The first part was a lot of stairs going down and we went through a series of domes and pits, it was very cool! The kids loved it. After our two hour tour we ate our lunch on some picnic tables we found and we started to see some dark clouds forming and just as we were walking to the car it started to rain. We drove home, the kids watched Blue Planet on Netflix, I made some Cafe Rio sweet pork, we had some birthday cake for Jillian and the parents talked upstairs while the kids entertained themselves downstairs.
