For spring break this year we decided to do some local things that we haven't been able to try yet. Our week started in Lexington, we bought a tour from Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farm Tours that started at 8:30 in the morning about an hour and 15 minutes away. We met the tour van at a Embassy suites and met our guide, he was a local guy who knew everything about horses, racing, breeding, and every farm we went to or drove by he knew the family or corporation that owned it, their horses names, how old they were, and if they had run in any races. Pinewood Derby x2

Ian had his first and last Pinewood Derby with his cub scout pack. Leah was on the scout committee and the Webelos leader for a couple months in the spring, so she was able to help plan it.  He created a sleek design with Scott and painted it grey with some dragon stickers.  He won 5th place and got the Muscle Car Award Madelyn's Activity Day Girls had a pinewood derby as well! She made an ice cream sundae car out of styrofoam balls, clay, batting and pom poms, that girl and her creativity! She did it all by herself! She received the coolest design award!  Another special thing that happened this spring was Madelyn and her dad went to a daddy-daughter dance at her school. They had a wonderful time, and dad (who hates dancing) even danced with her a couple times, but Madelyn mostly enjoyed chatting with her friends.
